O’Chiese Education Authority is currently accepting applications for a Grade 4 Teacher
(maternity leave coverage) for the 2024/2025 school year.
The applicant will have:
- experience working with a diverse set of student needs and providing
appropriate programming for those students - strong classroom management
- an understanding or a willingness to learn about trauma-informed teaching
- the ability to differentiate instruction
- the willingness to incorporate the Saulteaux language and traditional practices in
the classroom - the ability to work as a team with Educational Assistants and other staff members
Our school has approximately 240 students from K-12, 18 teaching staff, and 17 support
staff. Our school offers traditional Saulteaux language and land-based classes to
students. Our community is located in the foothills with a beautiful scenic view of the
Canadian Rockies, close to local parks, within a 45-minute drive of Rocky Mountain
House and approximately 2.5 hour drive to Banff, Jasper, Calgary and Edmonton.
Applicants are required to have or be eligible for Alberta certification. We thank all
