O’Chiese Education Authority is currently accepting applications for one Grade 4 teacher for the 2026/2027 school year.
The applicant will have:
- strong classroom management
- be trauma informed
- understanding of Tier 1, 2 and 3 teaching
- knowledge of the UFLI program
- knowledge of the SRSD program
- be able to use student data to inform planning
- knowledge of effective numeracy practices such as spiral review
- knowledge of Indigenous Ways of Knowing and being willing to integrate O’Chiese language and cultural protocols into the classroom.
- experience working with a diverse set of student needs and providing appropriate programming for those students
- the ability to differentiate instruction
- the ability to work as a team with Educational Assistants and other staff members
Our school has approximately 240 students from K-12, 18 teaching staff, and 17 support staff. Our school offers traditional Saulteaux language and land-based classes to students. Our community is located in the foothills with a beautiful scenic view of the Canadian Rockies, close to local parks, within a 45-minute drive of Rocky Mountain House and approximately 2.5 hour drive to Banff, Jasper, Calgary and Edmonton.
